Overview
AvidAffiliate ("we," "us," "our") operates the website avidaffiliate.com. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it. The short version: we collect very little, we don't sell it, and we don't track you across the web.
What we collect
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site — which pages are visited, how long sessions last, and where traffic comes from. Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish unique visitors. This data is aggregated and we do not use it to identify individual users.
You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Email addresses
If you voluntarily submit your email address through one of our forms (e.g. to receive data exports or updates), we store your email to deliver what you signed up for. We use Netlify Forms for collection. We will not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties.
Server logs
Our hosting provider (Netlify) automatically logs standard request data including IP addresses, browser type, and pages requested. These logs are used for security and debugging and are retained according to Netlify's data retention policies.
Affiliate links
AvidAffiliate contains affiliate links to third-party networks and merchants. When you click an affiliate link, you are redirected through a tracking URL operated by the relevant affiliate network (e.g. CJ, Impact, Awin, Skimlinks). These networks may set their own cookies to attribute referrals.
We earn a referral fee when you sign up for an affiliate network through our links or when purchases are made through tracked links. This does not affect the data, rankings, or metrics displayed on the site.
Cookies
We use the following cookies:
- Google Analytics (_ga, _gid) — Used to distinguish visitors and track sessions. Expires after 2 years (_ga) or 24 hours (_gid).
- Affiliate network cookies — Set by third-party networks when you click outbound affiliate links. We do not control these cookies; they are governed by each network's privacy policy.
We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking.

Data retention
Email addresses collected through forms are retained until you request removal. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' default settings (26 months). Server logs are retained per Netlify's policies.
Your rights
You can request deletion of any personal data we hold (primarily email addresses) by contacting us. We will process deletion requests within 30 days. If you're in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to access, rectify, and port your data.
Children's privacy
AvidAffiliate is not directed at individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted with a new "last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
